NOTHING LAST FOREVER by Shelley Platt
Someone once said
that nothing lasts forever.
I laughed to myself thinking
they weren't very clever,
because true love
is a deep and lasting thing.
I knew OUR love would last,
confidence only true love
could bring.
So I went home to tell my lover
of the fool I'd met that day,
but when I got there,
I saw that my one true love
had gone away.

LOSING FAITH by Psyche
I have always thought
I was never meant to be happy
Restrictions, jealousy, society
I could never truly be me.
No matter how hard I tried
Happiness evaded me, left my side
The actions of a spurned lover
Further questioned my faith in any other.
Believing there are good intensions
Seem harder with each passing day
Hoping that there are people who
Will prove me wrong in what I say.
Optimistic
as I once use to be
A cloud has dampened the light within me
Cruel intensions, spite and jealousy
Are deadly oppositions, weakening me.
I am losing faith
In all of mankind
True and just people
Will I ever find?
